Peyronie's Disease - My Battle Plan to Win the War

My battle plan can be broken down into three phases.  It involves three distinct and different modes of action that are designed to conquer and destroy this terrible enemy.  I performed all 3 phases simultaneously, to try and overwhelm this condition.  It paid off and over time I was cured.  Read the plan and accompanying articles, and I wish you good luck and victory in your battle against Peyronie's disease.

  • The Artillery - Phase I: We roll out the big guns in our first line of attack.  This involves using a traction device to straighten and stretch the penis.  In this section I will provide product comparisons, details of use and the science behind it.  I explore why this method is superior to other methods of traction. Product links and codes are provided for ordering.
  • Search and Destroy - Phase II: This system of attack involves infiltration. It's the Delta force of our war operation. I will explain how enzymes and supplements flowing through my blood stream attacked the plaque in my ravaged penis, and slowly dissolve the dead scar tissue.  I also include audio sound bites from the manufacturer to help you fully understand how these products work.  I want you to know how these miracle enzymes have the unique ability to help restore penis health. There are warnings included about other products to avoid, so as not to get side tracked in the healing process.
  • Infantry Attack - Phase III: Ground operations are not glamorous and flashy like the Artillery attack. However, it is an essential part of my overall battle plan. Topical Gel is a combination of three products that are applied to the penis.  One of the ingredients has the unique ability to penetrate human skin.  This formula worked for me and saved hundreds of dollars over topical Verapamil.

  1. Hi John,
Thanks for all this info. My question is how much is too much collagen and could I continue taking the collagen if I take the supplements that you recommed. I have no apparent problems at the moment, but certainly don't want to develop any. I currently take 6 gr. of collagen I and III and 1000 mg. of collagen II (do not take both at the same time)daily. I also take 6 gr. of MSM daily. This has helped my painful joints a lot. It has enabled me to return to working out and to jogging. A side benefit has been that my skin and hair seem to be holding their own. I am in my early sixties. Do you think I am at risk of developing Peyronies?

    1. Every person is different, and I do not know what would be a good judge of what is enough collagen and what is too much collagen. I have always had joint and back pain and after listening to a tape titled, "Dead Doctors Don't Lie", I began drinking knox gelatine, which is a little more than 7 grams of collagen per day. Dr. Joel Wallach, who is speaking on the tape suggested this, as a good inexpensive source of collagen to relieve back and joint pain. In my case it created a big problem. The collagen, overwhelmed my blood stream and within a short time, I had a small stroke (TIA) which was very frightening, I had a blood clot that occurred in the vision center in my brain, I couldn't drive but was able to get my wife to drive me to the hospital. Fortunately I was able to get to the emergency room and get a stroke shot, before it became a full fledged stroke. Shortly after that event, I had an episode of Angina and ended up again in the emergency room. The doctor's did a treadmill stress test, Carotid Artery ultrasound, and an MRI of my upper body and head. They found no evidence of heart disease or plaque build up.

Then came the onset of Peyronie's. I realized then that it was the collagen, that was playing havoc with my body, and I had to face the fact that I might not survive. Needless to say I do not take any type of collagen supplements now. Every person has a different tolerance level and need for collagen supplements. I can't say how much or little to take, it is just that my personal experience with overdosing on collagen almost killed me. Taking 6 grams a day is very close to the dosage that I was taking. I would talk with your personal physician to see if this could be a danger. You may need to supplement, but possible not at this high of a dosage.

  2. Thanks for your time, John, and all this detail. I am definetly going to cut back. From what I have read recently, it is type II collagen that helps the joints the most, so I will cut out I and III completely. I am also going to cut back on the MSM. I did read somewhere that MSM is responsible for collagen synthesis in the body, but I don't know if that means it would help prevent a buildup of collagen or cause a buildup. Iam also getting the supplements that you recommend. Sounds like they would help with joint pain also.

Anyway, this is a great site. I really appreciate the information on it.

  3. MSM is a naturally occurring, sulfur containing compound found in fresh fruits and vegetables and in every cell of the human body. MSM is an organic compound and commercial MSM is a pure, simple molecule that is identical to a molecule of MSM found in nature. MSM is derived from DMSO. MSM occurs when DMSO is oxidized. A molecule of MSM contains one more oxgen atom than a molecule of DMSO.

MSM is undergoing a study right now to determine it's effect in combination with Glucosamine. It appears to help the collagen distribute where it is needed and not randomly disperse throughout the body. Sulfur helps the body to form keratin, the protein that makes up the main part of the outermost layers of your hair and nails. It is a tough, fibrous protein that is very resilient to the effects of damaging chemicals and other harmful agents. If I had any inclination that Peyronie's disease was occurring, it would be a good idea to go over your supplementation schedule with a Osteopathic docor or Naturopathic doctor, to make sure you are not taking levels that would contribute to plaque build up on the penis.

Thank you for your questions and kind comments. Best Regards, John Parks

  4. Hi John! Before anything I would like to thank you for having this amazing website, it's a blessing for all of us who have been affected in this way. My question is if I don't do phase 1, do you think I will be able to achieve some improvement in the condition? Thanks in advance and best wishes.

  5. Hi John, I am interested in the Traction device theory. Given that my bend is almost 90% and very painful, how does one use a traction device? also unlike most, my penis hutrs in its flacced state.
My urologist has told me to wait a year and see whether or not it rights itself. I at this moment am unable to have sex due to a) the angle and b) the pain associated even with a partial erection.

    What are your thoughts?

  6. Thank you for your question,
It is really terrible that you are suffering with pain even when your penis is in its' flaccid state. Most urologists tell their patients to wait and see if it will resolve on its' own. What happens during this year usually is the plaque will stabilize (harden) and become more difficult to treat without surgery. The pain will usually resolve and you will be left with a penis that needs to have surgery. A small percentage of patients will spontaneously get better and the plaque will go away. It just depends on whether you are willing to risk this, and not have sex for a year.

The idea I came up with to treat myself at the time, was to go after the plaque with 1.)Mechanical/Traction, which stretches the penis and allows the cells to replicate and build up the tissue around the are of the plaque, helping to lessen curvature. It is common to improve curvature 30% or more with traction alone.
2.)Supplementing with Enzymes, to help condition the blood and increase healthy circulation in order to increase blood flow at the site of the plaque and also using enzymes that naturally scavenge the scar tissue to help in carrying away the material that should not be there.
3.)Topical Gel and Hot Compresses, This part of the program is designed to enhance circulation and soften and reduce the plaque, so that it will enable your body and circulation to absorb and carry away the plaque. If you would like a copy of my e-book email me a request at:
menssexualhealth@hotmail.com I will send it to you as an attachment in an email reply.
Best Wishes for success in your treatment and recovery - John Parks

  7. I believe that MSM may be a cause of this. Before MSM supplementation I had good health, and did not take any supplements ever in 20 years prior. Immediately after starting MSM I noticed physical changes. I cannot rule it out, but it seems likely that MSM could be a cause of this.

    1. From Wikipedia: MSM is sold as a dietary supplement and marketed with a variety of claims, often in combination with glucosamine and/or chondroitin for helping to treat or prevent osteoarthritis. According to one review, "The benefits claimed [for MSM] far exceed the number of scientific studies. It is hard to build a strong case for its use other than for treating arthritis problems.
Small-scale studies of possible treatments with MSM have been conducted on both animals and humans. These studies of MSM have suggested some benefits, particularly for treatment of oxidative stress and osteoarthritis, but evidence for other uses is lacking. Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database contains a continually updated list of health-related MSM studies.
