Acetyl L Carnitine

Acetyl-L-Carnitine is an amino acid the body uses to turn fat into energy.  This amino acid is sometimes referred to as natural Prozac, the emotional boost it gives is definitely noticeable.  It can be taken with or without food and is very safe and well

Acetyl-L-Carnitine and the drug Tamoxifen were compared in a 3 month double blind study on 48 men with Peyronie's disease, in Torino, Italy.  Acetyl-L-Carnitine (at a dose of 1g. daily) reduced penile curvature, while Tamoxifen did not.  In addition the supplement reduced pain and slowed disease progression.  The other benefit of Acetyl-L-Carnitine over Tamoxifen was a lack of side effects.

Doctor's Best Acetyl-L-Carnitine capsules contain 588 mg. ea.  and can be taken with or without food.  Other known benefits of Acetyl-L-Carnitine are improved cognitive function and increasing nerve growth factor production, which are essential to growth and repair of tissue.  Some people have symptoms of overstimulation and insomnia with large doses.  Listen to the audio clip for more details on Acetyl-L-Carnitine

Treatment Doses:  I took 2 capsules each, of Serrapeptase, Nattokinase, and Acetyl-L-Carnitine twice daily.  I would take them when I first woke up and then I would make my coffee and shower before eating breakfast.  I took them again between lunch and dinner.  Just before going to bed at night I would take Serrapeptase and Nattokinase, to keep the food in my stomach at a minimum, and maximize the benefits of these enzymes and amino acids.  I did not take Acetyl-L-Carnitine in the evening as it makes it hard to fall asleep.

  1. Are you financially incented by Doctor's Best?

    1. Thank you for your question,
No, I receive nothing from Doctor's Best. That is the brand that I used and was very happy with the results. I do receive a small referral commission from Amazon - 6%, which does not affect the cost of any products. If someone links from this site and purchases an item, I do get credit for that. It sure would be nice if Doctor's Best sent me checks, but unfortunately that doesn't happen.

  2. hi john i JUST found your website now and I am trying to cure this same disease i can feel coming over my penis since last week, I feel very alone about this and would like to personally email you about my situation and see if you can provide me with any advice. I ordered a product called Man1 man Oil it has the same amino acid in the oil. have you ever seen this? do you think i could use this and the capsules together or would it be too much of it? Sorry if it's too much to ask to contact you by steady emails but i'm insanely worried about whats happening to my penis but i have hope that you and your website can help THANK YOU

  3. Does it matter whether the supplement says it is "free form" or not?

    1. This comment has been removed by the author.

    2. Free form as it applies to use in Amino Acids, are single amino acids that are already broken down and easy to digest. I could not find any information about how "free form" applies to Acetyl-L-Carnitine. My guess is that it is being offered in a simpler molecular form, maybe, than other brands that are not listed as "free form". Amino acids in their whole form, must be broken down to a singular form after ingestion, and "free form" is already broken down into a singular simpler form.

I could not find any useful description or information on the actual benefits on the bio-availability of one form over the other, but did find some products for sale listed as "free form." I do not know if they are more effective. The double blind placebo studies performed using Acetyl-L-Carnitine vs. Tamoxifen did not state what form of ACL they used.

If anybody reading this has more information, please add to this in the comment section or email me, so that I can update this information. Thank you for your question, sorry I am at a loss to give you a better answer.
